The yogurt scones are soft and tasty, excellent as an appetizer but also for a snack or a buffet; they can be prepared in a few minutes and without leavening. For the preparation of the dough in fact we will only use flour, salt, baking soda, vegetable oil and yogurt, without brewer’s yeast. In our recipe we have stuffed the scones with cooked ham, cheese and ricotta, before cooking them in a pan, but you can also prepare them empty and stuff them after cooking or use them as an alternative to bread; they are also excellent as a tasty snack. So let’s see how to prepare them.

How to prepare yogurt scones fried in the pan

Dice the ham 1 and the soft cheese and set aside. Now prepare the dough; put flour, salt, baking soda in a bowl and mix. Add the liquid yogurt, the vegetable oil 2 and knead until you will have obtained a soft mixture 3.

Divide the dough into 2 parts and roll them out with a rolling pin 4. Mix the ricotta cheese with the ham and cheese in a bowl. Spread small portions of filling on the dough 5 and cover with a second roll. Cut the portions with a glass 6.

Fry the scones in a pan in hot oil 7. Cover with the lid, turn the scones and cook on the other side, always covering with the lid, until they are golden brown 8. Lift them with a slotted spoon and lay them on a plate lined with paper towels. Your yogurt scones are ready to be served hot or cold 9.

Preservation

You can preserve the yogurt scones for 1-2 days in an airtight container. You can then heat them or enjoy them cold.
