Beat the Heat with Fun & Healthy: 2-Ingredient Chocolate Yogurt Stars

These adorable 2-ingredient chocolate stars are a playful take on the classic frozen treat, tapping into an unlikely combination of chocolate and yogurt. These treats are cleverly made using an ice cube tray with frozen water. These icy stars are then dipped in melted chocolate to form chocolate stars.

Once the chocolate hardens, the ice core is removed creating a hollow chocolate shell which is then filled with yogurt.

Packed with protein from the yogurt and boasting a satisfying dose of chocolate, these bite-sized treats are a guilt-free indulgence that's sure to bring a smile to faces of all ages.

Tips

  • Use a clean star-shaped ice cube tray for well-defined shapes.
  • Don't skip the toothpicks! They act as handles for dipping and later help remove the ice core. Insert them firmly but carefully in the center of each mold before freezing.
  • Ensure the water is completely frozen before dipping. This prevents the chocolate from melting too quickly during the dipping process.
  • Hold the star by the toothpick and dip it completely into the melted chocolate, letting any excess drip off before placing it on the baking sheet.
  • Before filling the chocolate stars, let them sit out for a few minutes to soften slightly. This makes scooping out the ice core easier.
  • Choose your favorite Greek yogurt flavor – plain, vanilla, or even flavored with fruit!

What Kind Of Yogurt Should I Use?

Greek yogurt works best because it's thicker and creamier. You can use plain, vanilla, or even flavored yogurt.

Can I Make These Vegan?

Yes! Use vegan chocolate and a plant-based yogurt alternative for a delicious vegan treat.

My Chocolate Is Clumpy After Melting. What Happened?

The chocolate might have been overheated. Use a double boiler and low heat for gentle melting.

The Ice Core Melts Too Quickly When I Dip The Star In Chocolate. Help!

Make sure the water is completely frozen solid before dipping. You can also try chilling the melted chocolate for a few minutes before dipping.

The Yogurt Leaks Out Of The Bottom Of The Chocolate Star. What Can I Do?

The chocolate shell might be too thin. Try using a thicker layer of chocolate or letting the melted chocolate cool slightly before dipping.

Can I Add Anything Else To The Yogurt Filling?

Yes! Consider chopped nuts, granola, or even a drizzle of honey for extra flavor and texture.
