A woman who realised the bar of soap she'd spent days using to wash her hands was actually a block of cheese has gone viral once more on social media as people try to understand how she could have made such a mistake.

The woman in question is Miley, from Vancouver, Washington. She had been regularly scrubbing her hands with a small bar of orange soap she kept by her kitchen sink only to realise days later that it hadn't been working because it was in fact not soap but a chunk of cheese.

She took to Reddit to share the comedic tale. She  shared a picture of herself holding the cheesy soap imposter above her sink, with a caption that read:

"Just realized my soap wasn’t working because it’s literally a block of cheese."

The post, which recently went viral on Twitter, has left people confused as to how she could have mistaken the cheese for soap.

There were comments of disbelieve as well as many questions from tweeps who thought it was quite baffling.

One user asked: "Did she not once think ‘This soap smells like cheesy feet'?"

While another wondered: "Just how? Didn’t she notice it didn’t foam or did it!"

It took her a few days to notice but Miley revealed she did eventually realize the cheese wasn't working like normal soap.

She said: “It was a couple days of ‘Why isn’t this foaming?!'"I come to realise it was a dried-out square of Tillamook sharp cheddar cheese."

The cheese had been left outside the fridge one night and had gone rock hard.

"It was hard as a rock dried on the counter, gross yes I know," she said.

She blamed alcohol: "I suspect I left it out when I was intoxicated and just forgot."
