In our version, after cooking a syrup made from water, cane sugar and orange juice on the stove, we added grated citrus peel, cloves and cinnamon powder, and then simmered everything for a few moments on a low flame. How to Make Winter Orange Punch

Wash the orange, dry it with a sheet of kitchen paper and remove the zest with a lemon zester, or with the help of a potato peeler: be careful not to damage the slightly bitter white part.

Cut the fruit in half and squeeze the juice.

Pour the filtered orange juice into a saucepan with a thick bottom and add the water necessary to obtain 500ml of liquid.

Add the brown sugar.

Combine the orange zest, put on the heat and bring almost to the boil.

Scent with cinnamon powder and cloves.

Mix with a spoon and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.

Once finished, remove from the heat and add the rum.

Leave the punch to infuse for a few minutes, then filter it with a fine mesh strainer and distribute it into individual glass cups.

Garnish with a few slices of orange and a cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
