Award-winning rapper Travis Scott gave fans a thrill when he took to social media to formally announce that his collaboration with the food chain will be coming to life. This is in the form of a special meal that can be enjoyed at different McDonald's stores across the United States. But is it true that the collaboration will also produce a toy?
Travis Scott is known for many things, and soon, one of those will be his very own burger, which will be sold starting September 8 through October 4.
Can't say we saw it coming, but since it will produce a new meal, the collaboration may be one of the best things to happen in the coming months.
In a public statement addressed to the public, the McDonald's team described Travis Scott as "a true McDonald's fan," speaking about his eagerness for the collaboration.
McDonald's US chief marketing officer Morgan Flatley said:
"Travis is a true McDonald's fan having grown up visiting our restaurants in Houston, not to mention one of the biggest musical acts and cultural icons in the world. This is the first time in nearly 30 years we've introduced a superstar's name to our menu."
The fast-food giant has already signed a deal with Scott's label known as Cactus Jack. They have also started plans to launch the Travis Scott meal, which includes the rapper's favorite food items: a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon and lettuce, french fries with BBQ sauce dip, and a Sprite drink.
The meal will cost $6, but rumor has it that a special toy that may accompany it. So far, here's what Travis has said:
"I couldn't be more excited to bring the Cactus Jack x McDonald's collaboration to life. We are bringing together two iconic worlds. Including a charitable component was key for me, and I can't wait for people to see what we have in store."
Since there's no word of any toy from the collaborating partners, it is safe to say that news about it remains a rumor. We'd love to see it, though!
