This is one of the excellent Asian shrimp dishes. Szechuan Shrimp is really a guaranteed success. Best of all, it can be done with pre-cooked shrimp so there is little or no heavy work. This is a fantastic combination of sweet and spicy. The Chile red pepper (red pepper flakes) has the spicy touch. You can adjust the spiciness by adding more than less red pepper chili. It also uses the classic Asian flavors such as soy sauce (soy), garlic and ginger. This dish is simple and very quick dish to prepare, ideal if you do not have much time. It can be accompanied with a delicious white rice and cooked broccoli.

How to make Szechwan Shrimp

  • In a small bowl mix the water, tomato sauce (ketchup), soy sauce (soy), cornstarch, honey, red pepper flakes (red pepper flakes) and ginger.
  • Heat the oil in a pan or wok over medium heat. Add the green onions, then the carrot and red bell pepper and garlic.
  • Stir fry for 30 seconds. Add the shrimp and cook for 2 minutes, or sauté 30 seconds if the shrimp were already cooked.
  • Add the sauce, keep it warm while the sauce is thick.
  • Clean the broccoli very well and cut it into small twigs.  Cook in boiling water until tender. Drain the excess water and add cold water, this will keep the green color of the vegetables.
  • Prepare the rice according to the package instructions and add the vinegar. If you want very white rice, add a few drops of lemon.
