Strawberry Daiquiri is a fresh and tasty cocktail, one of the most loved and best known. It falls into the category of sour cocktails, that are preparations based on a distillate, lemon juice and sweetener. In the most classic version, Frozen Daiquiri only includes lime juice, but in this intriguing version it is enriched with strawberry pulp. Preparing it at home is very simple.
The fresh and slightly acidic taste of Daiquiri makes us dream of being on a Caribbean beach. The cocktail in fact takes its name from a small Cuban village where – as it is said – at the end of the 19th century, it was prepared for the first time, to serve it to an American marine in search of an alcoholic but thirst-quenching drink.
The intense and decisive base of rum balanced by the freshness of strawberry and lime makes it a refreshing cocktail, both in the classic version and in the frozen version with grenadine.
Preparing strawberry Daiquiri at home is very simple. Serve it for an aperitif on sunny days, for a romantic after dinner, or pour it as an accompaniment to ice cream or fresh fruit, to give a slightly alcoholic touch to your desserts. The advice is to use fresh strawberries, but alternatively you can replace them with flavored syrup.
Serve your cocktail in a tumbler glass or martini glass. Here's how to prepare a tasty strawberry Daiquiri at home in a few simple steps.
Prepare ice cubes in the freezer.
Wash the strawberries, remove the stalks and cut them into small pieces.
Prepare the sugar syrup by mixing 5 tablespoons of cold water and 1 of sugar in a saucepan. Stir by melting the mixture on a very low heat. Let it cool completely.
In a blender, add the ice, strawberries, sugar syrup and half-lime juice. Blend for about 10 seconds.
In a shaker, add the puree obtained with the white rum. Shake for a few seconds, until a homogeneous and foamy compound is obtained on the surface.
Pour the Daiquiri into your glass, and add two straws. Decorate the edge with a lime wedge.
For a perfect Strawberry Daiquiri, use ripe fruit that is juicy and tasty. If you think that strawberries are not very sweet, you can combine the ingredients with a little grenadine, or a pomegranate-based syrup that you can easily prepare at home.
When blending the ingredients, start with the minimum speed, then switch to maximum and finally return to minimum. In this way, Daiquiri will be consistent and slightly frothy. Test the density of the cocktail by dipping two straws: if they don't move, you have prepared the best Daiquiri.
Do not shake the Daiquiri more than necessary, it only takes a few moments. This will prevent the ice from melting too much and the cocktail from losing its traditional aroma.
With this recipe we have prepared the strawberry Daiquiri in its most popular version, the frozen version. But if you don't like frozen cocktails, you can always prepare it in the classic version, with fresh lime juice and strawberry puree.
Get ready to prepare the Caribbean Daiquiri in all its variations. Try the classic lime-based Frozen Daiquiri, the mango Daiquiri or banana Daiquiri, with a cream of fresh fruit. Alternatively, you can also enrich the cocktail with syrups or fruit vodka, to make it more alcoholic and with a more intense taste.
An original idea for preserving Daiquiri is to pour it into an ice container and prepare delicious cubes to keep in the freezer. Thaw them in the refrigerator when necessary, and use them to accompany ice cream and desserts.
