Spinach with butter are an easy and tasty side dish that takes no time to prepare and they are excellent to accompany meat or fish main courses but also egg dishes. A side dish loved by everybody thanks to the delicate flavor of butter combined with Parmesan cheese which makes them even more delicious. They can be prepared in a pan with a few simple ingredients; in this way you will create a dish rich in taste and very versatile to prepare for any occasion. Here are the steps to prepare spinach sautéed in butter in no time.
Rinse the fresh spinach under running water by washing the leaves thoroughly (1). Put the spinach in a large non-stick pan and add a little water. Cover with the lid and cook for about 5 minutes, until the leaves are soft (2). Add a pinch of salt and drain, if necessary (3).
Melt the butter in a separate pan (4), add a clove of garlic and brown it. As soon as it is golden brown, remove the clove of garlic and add the previously cooked spinach. Stir (5) and sauté the spinach for a couple of minutes over high heat. Stir them with a generous sprinkling of Parmesan cheese and serve. Your spinach with butter are ready to be enjoyed (6).
For this preparation you can also use frozen spinach; in this case, put them directly in the pan with a little water and proceed with the recipe. You can also make steamed spinach, to keep all the organoleptic properties unaltered; it is also possible to cook them in the steam without a steamer, with just simple tips.
You can also enrich the dish with chopped cheese to be added almost at the end of cooking: the spinach with butter will be stringy and delicious.
Those who prefer can also add raisins and pine nuts, which will give the spinach with butter a sweet but very pleasant taste and a crunchy note. Alternatively, you can add lightly toasted flaked almonds before serving.
Alternatively you can prepare the spinach in a pan to cook with extra virgin olive oil or butter, ready in a few minutes.
