Singapore Sling is a fruity alcoholic cocktail made of gin and triple sec created in 1915 by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon in a hotel of Singapore. This is a very particular cocktail which is light and fresh to taste despite the presence of many alcoholic ingredients. For this reason Singapore Sling, originally created as a cocktail for ladies, soon became famous and appreciated by everyone. The preparation of Singapore Sling is very simple but as every good cocktail, it is necessary to pay attention to doses. Excellent for a fresh aperitif or for a party on the beach with friends, this cocktail is extremely easy to drink: be careful though because its alcoholic level may deceive you, so do not underestimate it!

How to make Singapore Sling

Take the shaker and pour in three ice cubes. Add the gin using a measuring cup and add the cherry, cointreau, don benedectine, lemon juice, pineapple juice, grenadine syrup and a drop of Angostura.

Close the shaker and shake for 12-15 seconds. Take a highball glass and strain in the mixture. Garnish with a quarter of a pineapple slice and a maraschino cherry and serve immediately.

Tips

You can replace lemon juice with lime juice using the same quantities.
