In our version, simple and very fast, you will just need to mix the flour with oil, water, salt and instant yeast, get many thin and small disks and then fry them in hot oil until they will be golden brown. The use of instant yeast, which replaces the classic brewer’s yeast, will allow you to obtain these savory fritters in a very short time and without long waitings. Warm and inviting, these savory fritters can be served as a substitute for bread and/or as an appetizer, together with cold cuts, cheeses and various sauces, for a festive dinner or whatever you want. So let’s find out how to prepare these savory fritters by following our recipe step by step.
Pour the flour into a planetary mixer and add the oil, sugar, salt, water and finally the instant yeast (1).
Operate the planetary mixer and let it mix until the mixture will be firm and compact, which easily detaches from the edges of the bowl (2).
Transfer the dough to a work surface, knead it for a few seconds with your hands and then form a ball (3).
Divide the dough into 5 parts (4).
With the help of your fingers, crush the dough until you will get a rounded shape (5).
Heat plenty of peanut seed oil in a pan, arrange the dough disks and fry them, sprinkling them gradually with the hot oil, using a spoon (6).
When the savory fritters will be golden brown, drain and let them dry on absorbent kitchen paper. Season the savory fritters with a pinch of salt and serve hot (7).
It is advisable to fry the savory fritters and serve them hot at the moment. If there is something left, preserve them in the refrigerator for a maximum of 2-3 days, tightly closed in an airtight container. At the time of eating, heat them for a few minutes in the oven before enjoying them; they will seem as if they were just made. You can also freeze the savory fritters in the freezer and, if needed, defrost them and then put them in the oven for a few minutes.
