There are many great ways to cook cauliflower, but roasted cauliflower steak has to be one of the best. This recipe is easy to prepare, with only a few ingredients, many of which you'll already have in your kitchen. The beauty of roasted cauliflower steak is that it can be served as a starter or a side dish, making it a fantastic way to get a tasty vegetable on the table whether you're a meat-eater, vegetarian or vegan, or follow the keto diet.

How to Make Roasted Cauliflower Steak

Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon, minced garlic, pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

Place the cauliflower steaks onto the baking tray. Brush the steaks with half of the olive oil mixture.

Roast the cauliflower steaks for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, flip, and brush with the remaining olive oil. Roast for another 15 minutes.

Notes

To cut the cauliflower, put it stem-side down on a cutting board. Take a sharpened knife and cut it in half down the middle. Cut each steak about ¾ inch thick. Any leftovers can be also be roasted.
Don't overdo it with the oil – you want just enough to coat the steaks without them becoming saturated.
Experiment with different seasonings. Old Bay, Creole, jerk, and fresh herbs also go beautifully with cauliflower steaks.
