Why pumpkin seeds help to strengthen the hair
Pumpkin seed oil is extracted from the cold pressing of pumpkin seeds: a dark green oil with a smell similar to that of hazelnuts is then extracted. Pumpkin seeds contain nutrients that are really valuable for our hair, such as essential fatty acids, especially linoleic acid (Omega 6), which has an antioxidant action and Omega 3. This vegetable oil also contains mineral salts important as iron, zinc and magnesium, as well as B vitamins, carotenoids and phytosterols. Thanks to the content of these elements, pumpkin seed oil would counteract the alopecia by inhibiting the action of the enzyme 5alpha-reductase type II, responsible for the hair loss process.

How to use pumpkin seed oil: reinforcing treatments for your hair's beauty routine
You can find pumpkin seed oil in hypermarkets, grocery stores and online. When you buy it, however, make sure it is made from unroasted pumpkin seeds: you will have a more effective product.

There are several ways to use pumpkin seed oil on the hair. You can use it pure for a stronger and more focused effect: apply the pumpkin seed oil on the hair, rub it and let it act for 5 minutes. Then carefully wash the hair, as pure oil can be more difficult to remove without leaving traces. You can repeat the application twice a week for your anti-fall beauty routine.

Alternatively you can instead make a moisturizing treatment that helps stimulate hair growth. Place 50 ml of pumpkin seed oil and 2 drops of lemon essential oil in a dark glass bottle. Close, and shake before using. Take 3 drops, to avoid greasing the scalp, and massage with circular movements: this will stimulate the sebaceous glands, reducing the dryness of the hair, and circulation, promoting the growth of healthy and strong hair. The lemon oil will perform a polishing action on the hair, making it shiny and fragrant: do not add more than 2 drops, as, in high doses, it could irritate the scalp.

You can then prepare a homemade strengthening mask. Add 1 teaspoon of pumpkin seed oil in a jar of white yogurt and mix to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Apply the treatment on wet hair, leave on for about 10 minutes and then wash the hair with shampoo and conditioner, as usual.
