Just when you think pizza can’t get any better, we introduce to you the Pizza Crescent Ring. Once you have a taste of this, pizza nights will never be the same again. A pizza crescent ring is like a Stromboli or turnover made with pizza dough (or crescent dough) and fillings.

It’s an easy appetizer recipe to serve for a party, but you can just as easily whip this up for a light weekend dinner dish. Crunchy on the outside, with a delicious flavorful filling inside. The filling is easy to customize the flavor as you want, so get creative and use your friends or family’s favorite pizza toppings!

Another great thing about this dish is that it looks pretty good on the table, so next time if you’re having friends over to watch the game, why not make the Pizza Crescent Ring?

Tips

Make it healthier and add a bit of nutrition by including more veggies in your pizza ring. Try fresh sliced mushrooms, chopped green bell peppers, chili, corn, zucchini, sundried tomatoes, or chopped onions.

When spooning the filling mixture around the ring, make sure to leave some dough exposed in the center so you can seal it later. You will wrap the pointed ends of the dough triangles around the filling and pinch to seal.

To make it easier to keep a ring form, you can use a small bowl as a guide and place it upside down in the middle.

Assemble the pizza ring on a cookie sheet or pizza stone, this will make it easier to take out of the oven after cooking.

To make your own pizza dipping sauce: Cook together: 1 can chopped tomato, 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 crushed garlic cloves, 2 tbsp tomato paste, 3 tbsp fresh basil, 2 tsp dried oregano (or 2 tbsp fresh oregano), salt, and pepper to taste. If the sauce is a bit too acidic to your taste, you can add a tsp of sugar.

Serve the Pizza Crescent Ring with your favorite dipping sauces, and a salad on the side.
