It's a simple but decadent dessert boasting a fudgy, gooey and warm peanut butter center that is absolutely outstanding when combined with chocolate. Whip up this gorgeous dessert using your Instant Pot and you'll be sure to impress. Serve it with a bit of powdered sugar and ice cream for an even more intense taste!

How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Lava Cake

Place butter and chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave until melted. Use 30-second bursts.

Pour in eggs, egg yolks, powdered sugar, and vanilla, beating together until smooth. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt, stirring until combined.

Take the extra butter and grease the ramekins. Pour the cake batter into the ramekins so they are half-filled. Place a tablespoon full of peanut butter in the center, then cover with batter so the ramekin is full.

Put the trivet in your Instant Pot. Pour in the water. Put the ramekins in the Instant Pot.Cover with the lid and set the Instant Pot to Pressure Cook/Manual, and press the High setting. Cook for 20 minutes.

Once the cooking cycle is complete, remove the ramekins from the Instant Pot. Carefully cut around the edges using a sharp knife. Cover the ramekin with a plate, then invert to remove it from the ramekin. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You'll need ramekins to make chocolate peanut butter molten cakes, and the best ramekins are between 6 and 8 ounces. If you don't have ramekins, a large muffin tin will also work.
  • Make sure to grease the ramekins well. Otherwise the cakes will be difficult to remove.
  • Use smooth peanut butter for this recipe.
  • Use tongs to remove the ramekins from the Instant Pot.
