Breakfast

Most followers of the keto/paleo diet already know that omelets are the stars of the breakfast menu. It’s filling, delicious, and you can add a variety of veggies to jazz it up. But if you’re tired of the usual bacon and egg breakfasts, why not go for a ‘sweet’ breakfast.

To make a nutritious yogurt breakfast, add vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a heaped tablespoon of coconut flour to plain yogurt. Coconut flour is high in fat and also gives the yogurt extra flavor. If you prefer smoothies, you can make a smoothie with coconut milk, and low sugar fruits. If you miss the crunchy texture of toast, why not make cauliflower toast.

Just because you follow a low carb diet, doesn’t mean you should miss out on all the fun. You can make your own low carb pizza with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry!

For a low carb snack to satisfy your sweet tooth, why not make Nut Butter Energy Balls? Simply mix 1 cup nut butter of your choice (almond, cashew, peanut, or macadamia), with 1/3 cup maple syrup, and ½ cup coconut flour. Roll into small bite-sized balls, and chill in the fridge or freezer until firm. If you really want to treat yourself, make this chocolate mousse recipe by MyWholefoodLife.com. You only need four ingredients: coconut milk, cacao powder, maple syrup, and nuts of your choice. Yum!
