Ingredients

sweetened fresh cream
500 ml
Cornstarch
60 g
Vanilla essence (optional)

The milk cream is a very quick recipe, with a delicate taste and a smooth texture. It is made using only fresh cream and cornstarch and is gluten-free friendly.

Versatile in combinations and uses, it is perfect to serve as a dessert, enriched with chocolate chips and fresh fruit, or to be used as a filling for sponge cake, cakes, tarts and snacks. So let’s find out how to prepare two-ingredients milk cream by following our simple instructions step by step.

Tips for making 2-ingredient Milk Cream

If you want to obtain an even more compact consistency, you can add an extra teaspoon of corn starch or a sheet of isinglass, previously soaked in cold water and then well squeezed.

Instead of cornstarch, you can use potato starch, or you can also use unsweetened fresh cream and add the sugar separately, thus deciding the desired degree of sweetness. If you use it as a dessert at the end of a meal, you can add another pinch of sugar, as a filling it will be counterbalanced by the sweetness of the sponge cake, shortcrust pastry or other basic dough used.

If you like, you can flavor it with a little bitter cocoa powder, a pinch of cinnamon or with a little grated lemon zest or orange zest (in this case, use organic citrus fruits).

You can enrich the cream with chocolate chips, toasted coconut flakes, 100% dried fruit cream (no added sugar), berries or other fresh fruit of your choice.

How to store Milk Cream

The milk cream can be stored in the refrigerator, inside a special airtight container, for a maximum of 2-3 days.

How to make Milk Cream

Collect the corn starch in a saucepan 1.

Pour in the cream, a little at a time, stirring constantly with a whisk to avoid the formation of lumps 2.

Add a drop of vanilla essence 3, put on the stove and heat, mixing continuously.

As soon as the cream becomes thick and creamy, turn off and remove from the heat 4.

Transfer the milk cream to a bowl 5, cover it with cling film and let it cool.

Use the cream to fill your desserts or serve it accompanied with fresh fruit 6.
