– Don't skip the washing step! The rice must be clear before cooking.
– You can use the oil of your choice in this recipe. Extra virgin olive oil is always a great option, but toasted sesame or coconut adds a lovely subtle flavor to the rice. Alternatively, use butter or ghee.
– To make more flavorful rice, use broth or stock instead of water.
– Need to make less rice? Whatever amount of rice you want to make, just remember the ratio of water to rice is always 1:1, so 2 cups of rice call for 2 cups of water, 4 cups of rice needs 4 cups of water, and so on.
– When making Instant Pot jasmine rice, use the High setting to cook the rice – this will give you the best results.
– You can serve Instant Pot jasmine rice with rich dishes like honey chicken, roasted chicken, chicken curry, burritos or burrito bowls.
Wash the rice under cold water until it runs clear.
Pour the rice, water, oil, and salt into the Instant Pot insert. Make sure all the rice is covered with liquid.
Seal the Instant Pot's valve and set it to manual for 5 minutes on High. After the 5 minutes have passed, let it naturally release for 10 minutes, then do a quick release.
Stir the rice and serve.
Don't forget to rinse the rice before cooking it. Gently stir it to help remove the starch more quickly.
