You can also make this Hot Dog Quiche using Bisquick too. Leave out the pastry, and mix bisquick with the filling ingredients. Alternatively, make your own puff pastry from scratch.
To make your own shortcrust pastry (often used in a quiche), you can use a food process to blend: 1 ¼ cup flour, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp sugar, ¼ cup vegetable shortening (or lard), ¼ cup cold butter (cubed), and ¼ cup ice-cold water.
Meat variations. If you don’t have hot dogs, you can use any other protein: smoked chicken breast, cooked bacon, ham, smoked salmon, or tuna.
Cheese variations. Use any type of cheese: feta cheese, goat’s cheese, cheddar cheese, swiss cheese, or gruyere.

The Hot Dog Quiche is best served fresh out of the oven, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just make sure to store it in an airtight container.
Place rolled-out puff pastry in a round pan. Make a slit along the length of the hot dogs.
Form hearts out of the hot dogs and place them in a baking dish lined with pastry.
Combine all the ingredients for the egg mixture.
Now make an egg mixture by combining all of the ingredients from the list and pour it between the hot dogs.
Fill in the hearts with mozzarella cheese.
Bake at 180 degrees C for 20 minutes.
The hot dog quiche is not suitable for freezing.
