Julia Child passed away over a decade ago but that doesn't make her memory any less cherished worldwide. The life of the world-famous chef is now going to be celebrated by HBO Max as they prepare to release a biopic series surrounding her life. The drama will reportedly feature a two-time British Academy Television Awards winner as the famed chef.
Julia Carolyn Child was an American cooking teacher, author, and television personality most popularly known for bringing French cuisine to the American public with her debut cookbook, "Mastering the Art."
Julia did not only warm hearts with her delicious meals, but she also earned a large fandom thanks to the 1963 TV series, "The French Chef."
Even posthumously, Julia Child remains a subject of great interest which makes it almost no surprise that a dramatic series following her life is set to start airing soon.
The series is titled, "Julia," and set to star two-time British Academy Television Awards winner, Sarah Lancashire as the iconic chef.
The show is reportedly "inspired by Julia Child's extraordinary life and her long-running television series, The French Chef, which pioneered the now popular genre of cooking shows."
Most interestingly, the new series will explore sensitive subjects like the emergence of public television as a new social institution, feminism and the women's movement, the nature of celebrity, and America's cultural growth.
It is definitely one to watch out for!
In a public announcement to share news of the series, Sarah Aubrey, head of original content for HBO Max, expressed excitement about their newest project. She said:
"We are so happy to help bring the incomparable Julia Child back to the small screen when we need her more than ever. This show's look into her life, marriage, and trailblazing career as she transformed the way we talk about food is an absolute delight.
