Cheesy, creamy, and ultra-hearty hamburger hotdish is a wonderful comfort food to make for your family once the nights begin to get chilly. Made with ground beef, egg noodles, cheese, vegetables, and tomato soup, hamburger hotdish is a classic beef casserole that you can throw together in no time. Just cook the noodles, brown the beef, saute the veggies, stir everything together, and bake!
It's a perfect recipe to make when you want to serve your family something delicious, rich, and wholesome that will warm them from the inside out.
Whipping up a hearty old-fashioned hamburger hotdish couldn't be easier. Set your oven to 350 to preheat. While the oven is warming up, make the noodles according to the instructions on the packet. Drain and set them to the side. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet. Add in the peppers and onions and cook them for a few minutes or until they begin to get soft.
Take the skillet off the heat and add in the eggs, soup, cheese, noodles, corn, and salt. Give it a few good stirs so that all the ingredients are well-combined. If you're not using an oven-proof skillet, transfer the mixture to a casserole dish, cover it with foil, and bake for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes have passed, remove the foil, and bake it for another 15 minutes or so, then serve and enjoy!
Grate the cheese yourself for a more even melt.
For an even heartier take on this classic comfort food, you can use rice, or add extra veggies to your hamburger hotdish. Try mushrooms, squash, or broccoli.
With all the beef, cheese, and vegetables in hamburger hotdish, it's a great recipe to make if you're on a low-carb or keto diet. To make keto hamburger hotdish, swap out the egg noodles for keto egg noodles, or just omit them altogether.
For a richer, creamier dish, use cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup.
