Halloween hand pies are a spooky, impressive sweet treat you can serve at your next Halloween party. Kids will love this dessert recipe much more than classic fall hand pies. It's the perfect balance of sweetness and horror, ideal for the night of October 31st.

Super quick and easy to make, you need two main ingredients, puff pastry for the hands, and blueberry jam for the fake blood. Simply fill two sheets of hand-shaped puff pastry with jam and bake until golden brown. You'll just have to cut these flaky hands in two to see the blood, er jam flowing out. You will eat them in one bite!

Tips

If you don't have puff pastry on hand, you can use pie dough.

You can customize this recipe by using your favorite jam such as raspberry or strawberry ones, just make sure it's red-colored.

For super spooky hand pies, decorate them with sliced almonds to look like nails.

How to make Halloween Hand Pies

Frst, make a paper model by drawing the outline of your hand on a piece of paper and cutting it out with a pair of scissors. Unroll the puff pastry on the cutting board and lay the hand-shaped model prepared on top and cut the dough with a sharp knife, following the outline. Repeat the process to prepare three hands.

Brush the edges of one of the two shapes with water, then pour the blueberry jam in the center.

Cover the filling with the second hand-shaped puff pastry, making the edges match. Seal them by pressing gently with the fingers. Next, make horizontal cuts along the fingers to make them even more realistic, being careful not to cut the pasta too much.

Brush the surface of the filled hand with the beaten egg.

Bake in a preheated static oven at 180°C/360°F for 25 minutes.

Serve and enjoy these Halloween hand pies!
