Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites: A Modern Classic

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites are a delicious, no-bake treat that combines the creamy sweetness of bananas and yogurt, the rich flavor of peanut butter, and the indulgent taste of chocolate. These healthy frozen mini desserts are perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without the guilt.  It’s a great way to use up overripe bananas. You can also customize these bites by adding different fillings like flavored yogurt or adding toppings like sprinkles or coconut flakes. They make a refreshing and healthy alternative to traditional ice cream.

Tips

  • You can use other flavored yogurt, but Greek yogurt provides a thicker, creamier texture and more protein.
  • Choose natural peanut butter. Avoid options with added sugars or hydrogenated oils.
  • For a bite that’s not so sweet, use dark chocolate. This has a higher cocoa content and less sugar.
  • For a uniform mixture, you can mash the bananas. This ensures a smooth texture in the filling.
  • Let the chocolate cool slightly before dipping. This prevents it from melting too quickly.
  • Freeze bites completely before dipping. This ensures a clean, even coating.
  • Experiment with toppings: Add a sprinkle of sea salt, chopped nuts, or coconut flakes for extra flavor.

Can I Use Frozen Bananas?

While it's possible, fresh bananas are recommended for a smoother texture. If using frozen bananas, let them thaw slightly before mashing.

What Kind Of Chocolate Should I Use?

Dark chocolate is generally preferred for its rich flavor and higher cocoa content. However, milk or white chocolate can be used based on personal preference.

Can I Make These Dairy-Free?

Yes, you can substitute Greek yogurt with dairy-free alternatives like coconut yogurt or plant-based yogurt.

How Long Will These Last In The Freezer?

Properly stored, these bites can last in the freezer for up to 2 months.
