French Onion Beef Sliders is an excellent appetizer to serve your guests, it is a simple dish to prepare, very delicious and its ingredients are accessible. The secret to get a perfect recipe, full of flavor is to season the meat correctly and let the onions cook for the time necessary to achieve juicy caramelized onions, golden but not burned. The Ground Meat

Peel and finely chop the onion, pepper, tomato and garlic. You can use a food processor or if you don’t have one, try to finely chop the vegetables as best you can. Place all the vegetables in the pan with a spoonful of extra virgin olive oil, turn the burner to medium high temperature, mix well and cover. When the vegetables are tender , lower the flame to medium-low. Add a half cup of water, stir and cover.

When the vegetables are tender, add the meat use a spoon to help break it up so it doesn’t become clumpy. At this point, raise the temperature a little, while mixing the meat in with vegetables and breaking up the meat with a spoon. When the meat has reached the desired consistency let it to cook for a few more minutes. Add the soy sauce, ketchup and mustard. Since soy sauce is already salty, taste to see if adding salt is necessary and season with pepper.

To caramelize the onions

Cut the onions into slices. In a pan over medium high heat, put the butter, vinegar and sugar. When the butter has large bubbles, add the onion, stir gently every so often until the onions are tender. Remove from heat, preserve butter.

The plate

Preheat the oven to 300F. Cut the slider buns in half. In a baking dish, previously covered with butter, put the lower half of the slider buns covering the entire mold. Use a spoon to evenly spread the meat over the bread, finally add the caramelized onions and the grated cheddar cheese. Cover with the top bun halves; Apply a little butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for about 20 minutes and serve hot with ketchup and mustard.
