The easy focaccia bread is a simple and delicious recipe, a clever idea for a quick dinner or snack that children and adults will love. Mix everything in a bowl, roll out the dough, without waiting for the rising time, and then cook in a pan for a few minutes. In our version, the stuffing is made with cooked ham and mozzarella cheese, for a soft and super stringy result, but you can stuff it as you prefer. You can also cook it without filling and enjoy it in slices instead of bread. Excellent both warm and at room temperature, easy focaccia bread is ideal for picnics in the park or trips. So let’s find out how to prepare an easy focaccia bread by following our recipe step by step.
In a bowl, mix the flour with the instant yeast for savory pies and fine salt. Pour in the water (1) and start kneading.
When the dough has taken shape, transfer it to a work surface and work it vigorously for about ten minutes (2), until a firm and homogeneous dough is obtained.
Divide the dough in half and roll out each part with a rolling pin until you get a disc (3).
Stuff the first disc of the dough with the cooked ham and mozzarella cheese, cut into slices (4).
Cover with the second disc and seal the edges well (5).
Heat the pan on the stove. Pour 1 tablespoon of oil and remove the excess with a sheet of kitchen paper that you will keep aside (6).
Place the focaccia bread in a pan, cover with a lid (7) and cook for 4 minutes over medium heat.
With the help of the lid, turn the focaccia bread upside down, as if it were an omelette, grease the bottom of the pan with the kitchen paper kept aside and continue cooking for another 4 minutes (8).
After the cooking time has elapsed, remove the focaccia bread from the heat, cut it into slices and serve hot (9).
The easy focaccia bread can be stored in the refrigerator, covered well with a sheet of cling film, for 1 day. Before eating, heat it in the oven or in a pan until the cheese melts.
