I strongly believe that there are a couple of recipes that we just won’t try out because of a strong mental block! In fact, it is way more than just a couple…
That is why I am here to guide you in to the fantastic world of cooking and share the endless possibilities that you may create yourself.
Now, coming on to this recipe. Well, what can I say? It is just so incredibly delicious and easy to prepare that you may consider it done the minutes you pop the cream cheese topped Danish rolls in to the oven. I recommend you to serve this as a quick (may be any time) dessert that can be clubbed with a dollop of your favorite ice cream, generously drizzle of any chocolate or fruity syrup, and sprinkled over with colorful sugar sprinkles. Just imagine this delightful dessert platter right before your eyes….. Drool worth, isn’t it?!
In a bowl, add the softened cream cheese along with the powdered white sugar and vanilla extract. Nicely beat the cream cheese mixture until it is smooth and fluffy in consistency. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C and line a baking tray with aluminum foil or a butter paper.
Lightly flour a work surface and place the cold (not chilled) crescent dough rectangles on it. Evenly spread the softened butter over all the dough and then sprinkle brown sugar on it. Now, roll up the dough from the long side to form a cylindrical shape while pinching the sides and the edges.
Holding one end, now coil the dough cylinder firmly and then press the dough from the center to form a depression in the middle. Transfer the doll dough onto the prepared baking tray and then add a generous dollop of the cream cheese filling in the middle.
Repeat with the remaining crescent dough and ingredients. Transfer the crescent roll in to the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown in color. Remove from the oven, cool a little, and then dust with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
Make sure you move your hands in only one direction while you whisk the cream cheese. In case you use hand blender/whisk, again make sure that the gadget moves in one circular direction only. Maintain the baking temperature and you might need to keep a watch in the final minutes of baking. Make sure that you lay out the crescent dough rectangles on to a tray and chill the dough slightly before you start working on it. It is much better to use and when the dough is cold.
