Coors Light Donates 150 Bottles Of Beer To 93-Year-Old Woman Amid Pandemic

An elderly woman in Pittsburgh did something quite out of the ordinary when she put up a sign asking for more beer to be sent to her while holding up a can of Coors Light beer. Apparently, she belongs to the population recognized to be most vulnerable to the coronavirus. It is, however, her down-to-earth request that made the photo go viral as soon as it surfaced on the internet. Nevertheless, she got her wish!

So far, the coronavirus pandemic has had a rather devastating impact on the economy of various countries as many people are implored to stay in their homes to “flatten the exponential curve” of the spread of the deadly disease.

Olive Veronesi of Seminole, PA, who is 93 years old is self-quarantined in her home in accordance with the lockdown directive. However, this has made her run out of supplies and the most important is her beers.

This made her create a sign to show her neighbors saying she needed more beer. Never did she think that she'd draw the attention of social media and the Coors Light brand!

Thanks to a photo of Veronesi with her sign posted by KDKA-TV, a CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh, she became popular online with over 50,000 shares on Facebook and counting.

Quickly, representatives from Molson Coors packed up ten cases of beer and dropped them off safely on Veronesi's doorstep along with some Coors Light merch.

An overjoyed Veronesi promptly updated her dry erase sign to say, "Got more beer!"

When asked why she chose to ask for beers that beers, Veronesi said:

"I was on my last 12 cans, I have a beer every night, you know what, beer has vitamins in it, it’s good for you, as long as you don’t overdo it.”

Nothing real like being real!
