Christmas Cheesy Snowmen are a delicious and decorative idea perfect for the Christmas table, but also for winter festive lunches. Very spectacular and at the same time extremely simple to prepare, these snowmen are based on tuna sandwiches. In short, a preparation without cooking, at low cost, but really very nice, with which to amaze all your guests, adults and children alike. So let’s find out how to prepare these savory snowmen by following our step-by-step instructions.
Peel and wash the carrots. Then slice them; cut 6 washers as the base of the hats, then 6 logs for the cylinders and 6 triangles for the noses (1).
Chop 140 grams of bread for sandwiches (2) to obtain crumbs that you will keep aside for covering the puppets.
Then chop the remaining bread together with the drained tuna, possibly adding a few drops of its oil to obtain a thick paste and collect everything in a bowl together with 200 grams of spreadable cheese (3). Mix.
Take a knob of dough at a time and form 10-12 balls; half larger and half smaller (4).
Roll the larger balls into the breadcrumbs and place them on a serving dish as a base for the puppets (5). Do the same with the smaller ones and place them on the large ones with light pressure (if you prefer, stop them with a toothpick).
Clean the leaves of rosemary sprigs (6), then position the sticks as arms of the puppets.
With a slight pressure, also place the peppercorns in place of eyes and buttons. Continue with the carrot triangles as a nose and the hats, joined with a hint of spreadable cheese left over (7).
Keep the snowmen in a cool place and keep them at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving (8).
Keep the snowmen in a cool place and remove them about 30 minutes before bringing them to the table, leaving them at room temperature; in case they were left over, wrap them with a sheet of cling film, put them in the refrigerator and consume them within 1-2 days.
The structure of the puppets is compact and allows for forming without hidden toothpicks that could annoy the diners.
You can have fun playing with different colors and ingredients using pink pepper berries for buttons, olives, etc.
For a stronger flavor you can use robiola cheese or ricotta cheese instead of spreadable fresh cheese.
