Chocolate spice cake is such a delicious preparation that you will certainly prepare this one many times over. It is a deliciously rich preparation with hints of gooey chocolate, the richness of coffee, and warmth of aromatic spices.
Enjoy it with your morning tea, mid-day snack or with a generous scoop of ice cream as dessert. But, the best way to savor the flavors of this delectable preparation is to have it with a cup of hot chocolate in cold cold winter night!
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C and line a spring form pan with butter paper. Lightly grease the paper and evenly dust it with flour. In a bowl, add flour, baking powder, cocoa, baking soda, powdered white sugar, salt, and mix everything until evenly combined.
Pour the brewed coffee, olive oil, 1½ teaspoons of vanilla, and balsamic vinegar in to the flour mix. Whisk everything well until the mixture is smooth. Add cinnamon powder, clove powder, nutmeg powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, remaining vanilla extract, raisins, almonds, pistachios, candied orange peel, bitter sweet chocolate, and mix everything until the mixture is well combined.
Pour the cake batter in to the prepared spring form pan and bake it for 35 to 40 minutes or until the cake is cooked at the center. Cool the cake completely and then un-mold it. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Make sure you move your hands in only one direction while you whisk or beat the ingredients. In case you use hand blender/whisk, again make sure that the gadget moves in one circular direction only. Be extra careful around the final minutes of baking so that the cake does not come out charred.
