Chocolate Jars Variations

For the cup, you can use other chocolate. Take note that if you use milk or white chocolate, the result will be sweeter, so use a bit more Greek yogurt to balance out the sweetness.

If you want to make it sweeter, use sweetened yogurt.

For a caramel flavor, mix Greek yogurt with dulce de leche instead of condensed milk.

Tips

To set up a double boiler, you’ll need a medium-sized pot and a heatproof bowl (usually glass). Make sure that the bowl and pot fit nicely onto each other—the bowl should be resting on top of the pot (in other words it should be larger). Place water inside the pot (it should not touch the bowl) and place over medium heat.

For smaller cups, use mini muffin paper cases. Carefully tear off the paper once the chocolate has set.

If you want more crunch in the chocolate jars, mix the melted chocolate with crushed nuts or shortbread before pouring it into the plastic cups to set.

You can also add small pieces of nuts or crushed cookies to the filling too.

If you have no piping bag, you can transfer the mixture to a plastic bag, and then snip off the corner.

How to Serve Chocolate Jars

Serve the chocolate jars on their own as a sweet snack, or with fresh berries.

Melt the chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave.

Cover the plastic cups with melted chocolate and allow them to set.

Use a hand blender to blend Greek yogurt with condensed milk.
