Rich chocolate truffles get a slightly healthier makeover in this recipe. These Chocolate Banana Truffles are made with creamy bananas instead of heavy cream, which gives you all of the creaminess without the calories. This easy, bite-sized dessert recipe has a smooth, silky coating, with a creamy inside.

To make it, you only need three ingredients: biscuits, ripe bananas, and chocolate. Simply whizz up the ingredients, drizzle with melted chocolate, and allow to set. These are great for kids too, as they don’t contain heavy cream, but healthy bananas instead. You will love these sweet, chocolatey bites. By the way, they make great gifts too.

Chocolate Banana Truffles Ingredients

Biscuits – use any of your favorite biscuits that do not contain any filling.

Bananas – use ripe bananas; they will be sweeter than unripe bananas, which is perfect for these truffles.

Chocolate – use high-quality dark chocolate (at least 70%) and white chocolate.

How To Make Banana Truffles

This recipe comes together in no time! Start by placing the biscuits in a blender and crushing it to a fine crumb. Add the banana pieces and blend again, until the mixture comes together.

Use your hands, an ice cream scoop, or a melon baller to measure out small amounts of the mixture. Roll into balls and drizzle with chocolate.  Allow to set and enjoy!

Tips

To make sure the truffles are all the same size, use a small ice cream scoop or melon baller to scoop the mixture.

If you live in a warm area, you might need to place the truffles in the fridge for 1-2 hours until it firms up.

If you want to make it sweeter, mix together 6 oz chocolate, ¼ cup condensed milk, and 1/3 cup mashed banana.

To coat the truffles with melted chocolate, use 2 forks to dip and turn them in the chocolate coating.

Banana Truffle Variations

Instead of a white chocolate drizzle, dip the banana truffles in melted white chocolate.

Biscuit variations: vanilla wafers, Oreos, graham crackers.

For a healthy version, use almond flour instead of crushed biscuits.

If you like the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, you can add a tablespoon of smooth peanut butter to the filling. You can also substitute all the biscuits with peanut butter.

To make banana split truffles, dip the truffles in white chocolate, drizzle with dark chocolate, and cover with rainbow sprinkles. Top with a glazed cherry.

To make a cream cheese version, blend together 1 package Oreos, 8 oz cream cheese, 1 tsp banana extract, 1/3 cup mashed ripe banana. Dip in chocolate.

How To Store Chocolate Banana Truffles

Store the banana truffles in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Ingredients

biscuits or cookies
400 g
ripe bananas, roughly sliced

white chocolate, melted

Instructions

Process the mixture until smooth.

Use your hands to make small balls.
