Chicken Cordon Bleu Roll-Ups look like a restaurant-style dish, but it’s actually easy! First, flatten the chicken breast with a meat mallet, then top with ham and cheese slices. Roll it up and secure it with toothpicks.
Bread the chicken roll-ups with flour, egg, and breadcrumbs. Then deep fry until golden. As easy as that!
If you don’t have chicken breasts, you can use large chicken thigh fillets.
You can cook the Chicken Cordon Bleu Roll-Ups in the Airfryer. Sear the crumbed chicken, then bake in the Airfryer basket and cook at 370°F for 20 minutes.
You can also cook these in a casserole. Sear beforehand and then bake in the oven until cooked through.
To prevent the chicken breast from falling apart, use both hands to roll up the chicken breasts, and use more than one toothpick if necessary.
Serve the cordon bleu with a cheese, mustard, or cream sauce.
Filling: add cream cheese, pesto, sundried tomato paste, Dijon mustard, or red pepper paste. You can also use slices of bacon instead of ham.
Crumb: add panko bread crumbs for extra crunch.
Cheese: use any of your favorite cheese; mozzarella, Swiss cheese, cheddar, or gruyere will all work. Add parmesan for extra flavor.
Store the cooked chicken breasts in the fridge (in an airtight container) for up to 3 days.
