Oh! You will love this recipe. This is a very fancy yet simple to prepare dish that looks straight from a top notch bakery in town. A lovely combination of flavors and texture encrusted in a very pretty looking loaf. Try it out at the earliest…

Ingredients:

Preheat oven to 190 degree C and prepare a baking tray by lining it with aluminum foil and greasing it lightly with vegetable oil. In a large bowl, add the cubed chicken pieces, small broccoli florets, capsicum cubes, minced garlic, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, oregano seasoning, and mix everything well until evenly combined. Lightly flour a clean rolling surface and using a rolling pin roll the crescent dough to an elongated shape until about half inch thick.

Put the chicken filling in the center length of the rolled dough as shown in the picture. Now, put diagonal cuts over the extreme ends of the dough, leaving about half inch distance from the filling on the opposite sides. The cuts should be about an inch away from each other and should start half an inch away from the filing area until the ends of the rolled dough.

Braid the dough by putting the topmost flap of the dough over the chicken filling and then lift two opposite sides of the dough and place them one over the other so that their ends are placed at the center over the filling. Continue to braid the bread until only the last portion of dough is left which you may seal by wrapping it over the braided dough surface and tucking the two opposite ends in to the rolled dough neatly.

Carefully lift the braided dough and place it carefully over the prepared baking tray. Brush the dough evenly with the egg on all sides and bake it in the oven for about 25 to 30 minutes or until evenly golden brown in color. Slice, serve hot and enjoy!

Tips

To make this recipe short, you may either use the market bought crescent dough or make your own dough. Maintain the baking temperature and you might need to keep a watch on the braided bread. Make sure that you carefully remove the egg shells while you break the egg to prepare the egg wash.
