The ingredients for these Cheesy Garlic Rolls are simply mixed together, allowed to rise, and baked! It couldn’t be easier! These Easy Cheese Garlic Rolls can be made in advance. Stored the baked rolls in the fridge (in an airtight container) for up to one week. They can also be frozen; wrap tightly with plastic wrap and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw the rolls in the fridge and heat up in a low oven for about 10-15 minutes.
You can freeze the dough balls (just after step 6). When you’re ready to bake them, allow to thaw. And continue with step 7.
Dissolve the yeast in 2 tsp warm water.
In a bowl, mix the flour with 2 tsp. salt and dissolved yeast.
Gradually add warm water.
Mix well and let rest for 1 hour.
In the meanwhile, cut mozzarella into small cubes.
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and use a pizza cutter to divide into 18 squares.
Place one slice of mozzarella cheese in the middle of each square and form rolls.
Grease the pan with melted butter. Add the dough balls to the pan, cover and allow to rise.
In the meanwhile, add chopped fresh garlic into melted butter.
Use the butter-herb mixture and brush over the risen dough balls.
Bake at 175°C/345°F for 30-40 minutes until golden brown. Season with fresh parsley and serve warm.
The recipe is not difficult to make, and is pretty straight forward, but it does require some planning (because of the rising time).
