There is a new pop up restaurant in town and it claims it will transport its customers to the colorful world of Barbie each time they come in to eat. The innovation already sounds promising as it is co-owned by Mattel, the owners of the original Barbie brand.
New York City and Chicago are about to get hit with nostalgia because The Malibu Barbie Cafe will be launched in a few weeks. This is all thanks to collaboration between Bucket Listers and Mattel. The cafe will feature Barbie-inspired dining in a cool beach-vibe setting that's perfect for taking Instagram pics or shooting TikToks.
The cafe is classified as a fast-casual restaurant however guests can look forward to some delicious dishes thanks to MasterChef semi-finalist Becky Brown.
The menu will include all-day brunch items, desserts, drinks, and several more options.
"We are delighted to announce the opening of The Malibu Barbie Cafe, a truly unique dining experience that celebrates Barbie and all the brand represents.” Julie Freeland, a senior director at Mattel said.
She also added, “At Mattel we are always looking for exciting, new ways to bring the Barbie experience to life. From the beach-loving décor to the menu, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the iconic Barbie style, with nostalgic details fans will love.”
To partake in this experience you need a ticket purchase which will get you a reserved seat and guaranteed window of time to visit, as well as your choice of entree.
The tickets aren't selling yet, but there's a waitlist for either New York City or Chicago that you can join. The cafe will open first in New York City on May 17, then in Chicago on June 7.
