The Adios Motherfucker is a strong, blue cocktail with a very particular name. It's best known as AMF drink or Adios Motherf*er for the picky people, and the name should refer to the reaction of bartenders when someone orders this drink. If you're not brave enough to say these words in a bar, you can even call it Walk Me Down or Blue Motorcycle. This cocktail recipe has a such singular name as it's made with rum, gin, vodka, tequila, sweet and sour mix, soda, and blue curaçao in order to give to the drink that bright blue color – what a mix!
Because it's made with no less than five alcoholic components, it has become one of the must-try drinks when people turn 21. Even though this is a sweet, citrusy multi-liquor cocktail recipe, it's so bold and boozy that everyone could end up with a headache the next morning as it's considered one of the strongest cocktail ever made – about 22% alcohol.
Created for the first time in the USA in the 1980s, the AMF became popular again in the mid 2000s. Be ready to be out of control and say Adios to your drinking friends.
The AMF drink is very similar to the classic Long Island Iced Tea, but it's slightly sweeter and stronger. The main difference between these two recipes is that the AMF uses blue curaçao and soda, while the Long Island Iced Tea replaces them with triple sec and cola.
To make sweet and sour mix on your own: mix 1 part sugar with 1 part of water and flavor with lemon juice. Otherwise, you can use a store-bought sweet and sour mix.
If you don't have a cocktail shaker, mix all ingredients directly in the glass.
You can serve the AMF drink with delicious party appetizer such as chicken wings or sliders.
In a shaker with ice, combine gin, rum, vodka, tequila, blue curaçao and sweet and sour mix. Shake it up.
Pour it into a highball glass with ice.
Top with Sprite or 7Up as you prefer.
Garnish with a slice of fresh lemon or a cherry. Enjoy!
