Baked potatoes are a fan favorite, but sometimes they can take too long to bake! These air fryer baked potatoes are done in less time allowing you to have the best baked potatoes even with a busy schedule. The air fryer gives these potatoes crispy skin and a fluffy inside, making them the perfect vessel for butter, sour cream, bacon, chives, and more! Serve on the side with your favorite protein or on its own.

Instructions

In a medium sized bowl toss your washed and dried potatoes with 2-3 sprays of oil, salt, and garlic powder. Toss to coat.

Add the potatoes to the air fryer basket and make sure they are spaced evenly so the skin can crisp up.

Cook in the air fryer on 400 degrees for about 20 minutes and flip over to the other side.

Cook for another 15-25 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender and the skin is crispy.

Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

The air fryer does not need to be completely filled with potatoes. It’s better if you choose potatoes that have the same dimension and space them out in the air fryer basket for even cooking. The best potatoes for this recipe are russet potatoes. These types of potatoes have a lot of starch, resulting in a fluffy, rich, and filling interior when cooked. Make sure the potatoes are dried after they are washed and scrubbed. If the potato skins are still wet they will not get crispy. It is best to season the potatoes while they are still hot. Serve with sour cream, butter, chives, bacon, cheese, or whatever is desired.
