Soak fruits and vegetables in a 10% saltwater solution for about 10 minutes to get rid of most of the pesticides.
A solution of 4 parts of water and one part of vinegar is ideal to soak fruits and vegetables for 20 minutes. This solution also helps to get rid of harmful bacteria present on the outer layer of fruits and vegetables. Be careful to not soak thin-skinned produce in the solution for too long.
Mix 100oz. of water with an ounce of baking soda. Soak the produce in this solution for 15 minutes and then rinse it with running water.
Rinsing produce under cold water is also beneficial to reduce the residual pesticides present on fruits and vegetables.
Peel the skin off of fruits and vegetables to prevent the consumption of pesticides.
